iSentio AS is Expanding and Opens Office in Silicon Valley, USA

The new office of iSentio AS in Sunnyvale, California is a significant step in the company’s strategy to grow globally. As a fast growing life science software company, this presence in the innovative environment of Silicon Valley, with access to key resources and customers, is crucial for the company to meet its objectives to make RipSeq® the leading DNA analysis tool for pathogen identification.

Bjarte Karlsen, the company’s CEO, will lead the operation as President of iSentio US LLC and expand the company’s customer base and partnerships based on the contacts and network iSentio has already established in the US.

The company has already engaged a U.S. consultant, a scientist with long experience from the area of clinical microbiology as well as familiarity with RipSeq. iSentio was just awarded a grant from Innovation Norway, a highly valued contribution in support of the company’s internationalization efforts.

“Being close to customers and creative environments will have a direct influence on our sales and product development. This is a major step in our ambition to grow the company globally” says Karlsen. “Our web-based software products significantly enhance the value of Sanger based sequencing for microbial detection of pathogens and we see our US office as an opportunity to increase our presence in the rapidly developing sequencing market.”

In anticipation of beginning U.S. operations Camilla Huse Bondesson, former Sales and Marketing director of iSentio, will take over the position as the company’s CEO. Mrs. Bondesson has extensive experience from the international life science market, with focus on the strategic and commercial aspect of business.
