DNASTAR has announced that the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) has selected DNASTAR Lasergene and ArrayStar software as its sequence analysis software platform for all of its pathology research laboratories.

A spokesperson for UTMB indicated, “Lasergene and ArrayStar represent comprehensive DNA, RNA and protein sequence analysis software packages that meet the needs of our researchers exceptionally well. Entering into this site license arrangement helps ensure that our scientists, staff and students have access to the best sequence analysis software tools in the market.”

Tom Schwei, Vice President and General Manager of DNASTAR, stated, “We at DNASTAR are pleased and honored that UTMB has chosen our software as part of a platform for key aspects of their scientists’ research and their students’ education. For more than a generation, we have been known as the leading provider of DNA, RNA and protein sequence analysis software for research. Recent additions to our suite of software tools make us ideal for more clinical research applications and the broad range of work ongoing at UTMB and similar institutions.”
