Professor Langer is one of 11 Institute Professors at MIT, has written more than 1,500 articles and has over 1,400 issued and pending patents worldwide. Professor Langer's patents have been licensed or sublicensed to over 400 pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

In this video, he talks to us about materials for drug delivery – a focus of the Langer Lab at the MIT Department of Chemical Engineering. This work is at the interface of biotechnology and materials science and is already changing the drug delivery landscape, particularly considering the "new era" of mRNA vaccines that are helping to fight the battle against COVID-19. How might it influence the future? Professor Langer explains in this Teach Me in 10.
