Complex Matrices: How the PerkinElmer QSight LC/MS/MS Can Help Tackle the Toughest Samples

Complex Matrices: How the PerkinElmer QSight LC/MS/MS Can Help Tackle the Toughest Samples content piece image

When it comes to analyzing environmental or food samples, including water, soil, cannabis, or any solid matrices, we know it can be challenging to meet stricter regulations that demand lower detection limits. We also know that throughput and efficiency are paramount in doing your job and doing it well. Our QSight triple quad LC/MS/MS family is known for its robust and reliable performance. With patented flow-based technology; unique, independent dual-probe source; self-cleaning interface design; and intuitive, easy-to-use software, the QSight 400 is more efficient than ever. Triple quads in general are a powerful analytical tool but can be sensitive to “dirty” samples which can contaminate or diminish the sensitivity of the mass spectrometer over sustained injections. PerkinElmer’s QSight® Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer contains a self-cleaning interface in the front end called the HSIDTM (Hot Surface Induced Desolvation. The HSIDTM interface takes advantage of a continuous flow of hot gas that forms a barrier preventing most of the ions or clusters from hitting the side walls. It also acts as a constant cleaning agent that will flush away any potential deposits, minimizing cleaning maintenance. Here we also report a robustness stress test that demonstrates the effectiveness of these technologies. These guarantee the stability of performance and reduce cleaning maintenance, especially for high-throughput analysis with challenging matrices, compared to traditional LC-MS / MS technologies.
