Welcome back! It's time for another installment of Teach Me in 10. This week, we are joined by the award-winning science writer, broadcaster and public speaker Dr Kat Arney.
Kat holds a degree in natural sciences and a PhD in developmental genetics from Cambridge University. She has spent more than 15 years working in science journalism and communication, including over a decade at Cancer Research UK, where she co-founded the charity's award winning Science Blog, and acted as a principal national and international media spokesperson. Kat is the founder and and creative director of First Create The Media, a communications strategy and content agency specialising in life sciences.
Kat is also the author of How to Code a Human and the critically acclaimed Herding Hemingway's Cats: Understanding how our genes work. She presents the popular podcast Genetics Unzipped for The Genetics Society, where she explores a myriad of topics relating to genetics research and its applications.
