Annelies Van Hemelryk, PhD profile page

Dr. Annelies Van Hemelryk studied medicine at Ghent University, where she also received clinical training in medicine, surgery, and urology. She then moved to Erasmus University Rotterdam for her PhD studies, developing PDX- and patient-derived prostate cancer organoids for high-throughput drug screening and personalized medicine. Currently Annelies is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Myeloid Cell Biology in Tissue Damage and Inflammation (Charlotte Scott Lab) at the Center for Inflammation Research, Flanders Institute for Biotechnology (VIB)-UGent, and an affiliated researcher at the Pediatric Precision Oncology Lab (Kaat Durinck Lab) at Ghent University. Her research focuses on deciphering the neuroblastoma tumor microenvironment through spatial proteogenomics and on elucidating the role of macrophages as novel immunotherapeutic targets in neuroblastoma.
