19th Century Engraving of a Cross-Section of the Human Brain

A beautiful engraving depicting the anatomy of the brain from a cross-section of a human skull.
Taken from 'The anatomy of the brain, explained in a series of engravings' by Sir Charles Bell, 1802. Published by C. Whittingham for T.N. Longman et al. London, this imaged featured opposite page 41.
Nowadays, medics and scientists can image brains through the skull using Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Positron Emission Tomography technologies.
