Nonlinear Dynamics has announced that it is releasing a Progenesis range of products for advanced analysis of 2D electrophoresis gels. The Progenesis range for 2D gel analysis incorporates three gel analysis products – the PG200, PG220 and PG240 solutions.

Entry level only in its pricing, the PG200 is designed to offer an advanced workflow and powerful data analysis for the proteomics researcher. The PG220 has all the features of the PG200 plus a range of additional tools designed for the analysis of DIGE experiments.

The flagship of traditional and 2D DIGE gel analysis products, the PG240 is designed for the needs of the advanced users. As part of an ongoing development process, these Progenesis products benefit from significant features.

One specific addition relates to the further enhancement of the DIGE analysis features of the PG220 and PG240. Spot data can be statistically combined using Replicate Groups. The software has the flexibility to allow any combination of images in the experiment to be grouped.

This supports the DIGE-workflow recommendation of replicating samples in different channels to avoid dye-bias, whilst allowing for collation of biological or experimental replicates to identify statistically reliable results.

John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director and CEO Nonlinear USA Inc, commented, “Nonlinear has a deserved reputation for updating its products to reflect the ever evolving needs of those working in this area of the Life Sciences.”

“We have therefore significantly enhanced our entry level products, reviewed our pricing models, and continue to add leading edge features to our entire product range.  We continue to deliver on our commitment to provide ever better solutions to match the needs of the proteomics researchers using 2D electrophoresis.”
