Protein "Intentionally" Terminates own Synthesis by Destabilizing Synthesis Machinery — the Ribosome

The ribosome becomes destabilized by the protein (nascent chain) it itself synthesized (IRD) and splits apart into the large and small subunits. As a result, the protein synthesis ends mid-cycle without reaching the end point. Credit: Hidekii Taguchi.
