Post-translational modification (PTM) signaling networks can govern cellular deregulation and many diseases. Efforts to understand these networks have harnessed LC-MS to catalog several thousand PTM sites across many functional protein categories.
Protein tyrosine phosphorylation (pTyr) is a PTM of great interest; it is highly correlated to human kinase oncogenes, despite only accounting for <1% of total phosphorylation events.
