Ingenuity Systems has announced the launch of Ingenuity Pathways Analysis 4.0, an application for understanding biological mechanisms, pathways and functions.

The two advancements in IPA 4.0 are the search and reporting updates.

Ingenuity claims that, users will now be able to conduct and save advanced searches for genes, proteins or biological relationships, create reports on bibliographies of pathway information and export high-resolution images for publication and presentations.

"IPA has been an essential tool in our whole genome analysis (transcriptome and proteome) of blood from human trauma patients," commented Dr. Ron Davis, Professor of Biochemistry and Genetics and Director of the Stanford Genome Technology Center

"The ability to ask more sophisticated questions of the knowledge base as well as export advanced reports of data for publication adds additional value to IPA 4.0."

"We are pleased that Ingenuity Systems is in touch with the needs of research biologists."

Ingenuity Pathways Analysis is a software application that is designed to enable researchers to model, analyze and understand the complex biological systems at the core of life science research.

IPA supports analysis of all high throughput analysis platforms and is used in virtually all areas of drug discovery and development from target identification and validation to biomarkers, predictive toxicology, and pharmacogenomics.

IPA 4.0 expands on the already capabilities of Ingenuity Systems' hosted or deployed solution. Features include:

- Advanced Search: Query the Ingenuity Knowledge Base and save searches for genes, biological functions, or diseases;

- Reporting: Generate high-resolution images for publications and presentations and create a bibliography of pathway information for reporting;

- Path Explorer: Create literature-supported, signaling pathway with proteins of interest;

- My Pathways: Understand and visualize the biological processes and diseases of associated genes;

- Mac-Enabled: Supports Mac platform in addition to PC

- Integration: Integrated with several statistical and visualization software applications for simplified workflows.

Ingenuity Pathway Analysis 4.0 will be available to users June 26, 2006. Until then trials of Ingenuity Pathways Analysis 4.0 are being offered online.
