arivis AG will be hosting a special event for VIP guests to journey inside biological structures during an immersive virtual reality experience with the newest version of InViewR software. This event takes place on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 11:00 to 12:00, in the Aqua 311 room at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, One Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA. To assure that all participants can have their own hands-on virtual reality experience, attendance at this event is limited.

InViewR® software allows its users to view not only 3D images of biological structures, but also interact with volumetric images and time series of these structures. Our Direct Volume Rendering technique allocates every single data point of the original 3D images to a voxel within the rendered object, enabling the user to move freely and inspect the target areas of their specimen from any angle and position without limitations. InViewR software was first introduced at Society for Neuroscience in 2015, and this next generation version implements improvements suggested by the scientific community, including exploration of 3D and 4D time lapse movies from image series, higher frame rates and low latency for smooth and responsive viewing, and avenues for sharing insights with peers and collaborators.

“Researchers argue that surface rendering alone is insufficient for revealing inner structures and intensity changes inside cells and along a timeline,” states Michael Wussow, vice president sales and marketing, imaging. “This software is enabling scientists to take image data collected from their own microscopes and view this data as 3D and 4D interactive renderings, allowing researchers to visualize tissues and interconnected structures in context for a deeper understanding of cellular processes.”

arivis InViewR software is the first and only solution to explore microscopy data in 3D and 4D using true direct volumetric rendering using virtual reality headsets. Demonstrations of this software will be available at booth 1413 during the SFN exhibition.
