Regulatory organizations are tightening health-based ambient air quality standards for fine particulate matter. To support continuous monitoring and reporting of air quality, Thermo Fisher Scientific announced the launch of two new air quality monitors: the Thermo Scientific™ 5014iQ Beta Attenuation Monitor and the Thermo Scientific 5030iQ SHARP (Synchronized Hybrid Ambient Real-time Particulate) Monitor. These models are the latest additions to the Thermo Scientific iQ Series platform, setting new standards in ambient real-time particulate monitoring.

The 5014iQ Beta Attenuation Monitor and 5030iQ SHARP Monitor are engineered for precision, reliability, and ease of use. The core measurement technology of both models is beta attenuation monitoring, providing field-proven accurate measurements of mass concentrations.

The 5030iQ SHARP novel design integrates the rapid response of light scattering nephelometry with the definitive accuracy of beta attenuation technology. This hybrid approach allows for the continuous measurement of particulate matter at levels crucial for environmental monitoring and air quality assessment, delivering real-time, high-resolution particulate mass concentrations at one-minute intervals. The synchronization of these technologies ensures unparalleled speed and accuracy of measurements.

The 5014iQ and 5030iQ instruments are now available globally and are approved for ambient air monitoring of particulates by both CCEP and the US EPA, with TUV testing in progress.

Features/Benefits:

  • Advanced Technology: Leveraging the latest in beta attenuation and nephelometry, the 5014iQ and 5030iQ provide accurate, real-time data on particulate matter concentrations at one-minute intervals, essential for air quality management and research.
  • Ease of Use: Designed with the user in mind, these instruments feature an intuitive interface, front door access, and automatic filter tape advancement, reducing the need for manual maintenance and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Robust Performance: Built to perform in diverse environmental conditions, both models ensure reliable operation and long-term durability for continuous ambient air monitoring.
