Most quantitative metabolomics studies focus on the measurement of steady-state metabolite levels.  While these studies are powerful in identifying and quantifying a metabolite species at a point in time, they often provide little insights into metabolic regulation and pathways. 

In this webinar, we will present a novel study utilizing high resolution LC-MS/MS analysis with SWATH® Acquisition for the measurement of flux heavy isotopes in a metabolic pathway, allowing both metabolite identification and elucidation of the regulation / kinetics of metabolic pathways.  Flux studies were performed on a QTOF mass analyzer using targeted, data dependent (IDA) and data independent (SWATH) acquisition techniques. With these combined analysis techniques, major differences in the degree of kinetic flux were apparent between labelled controls and treatments that received pathway inhibitors.
