What Can Proteomics Teach Us About Infectious Disease

What Can Proteomics Teach Us About Infectious Disease content piece image

Kevin Coombs, PhD, is a professor of medical microbiology and infectious diseases. Research from Dr. Coomb’s group involving the screening of over 1300 host proteins in Zika virus-infected cells, identified nearly 300 astrocyte proteins significantly dysregulated by Zika infections, pointing to pathways that may be involved in neurological complications resulting from Zika.

Watch this webinar to hear Dr. Coombs discuss:

  • Using proteomics to identify biological processes associated with infection
  • Measuring proteomic changes in response to antimicrobials
  • Comparing and contrasting cellular response to Zika and influenza
