A single hippocampal interneuron imaged by the Southampton Biosciences group.
Radiating out form the bright cell body in the middle of the picture, are dendrites, making up the radial receptive field of this interneuron. The punctate dots on the dendritic branches may be synaptic spines, but at this resolution it is difficult to tell.
