Inhibitory neurons in the zebrafish forebrain using gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) as a neurotransmitter.

This transgenic larvae expresses green fluorescent protein (GFP) in a subset of GABAergic neurons (green). Axonal tracts are shown in cyan.


This image shows many GABAergic neurons expressing GFP throughout the ventral forebrain including in the sub-pallium, pre-optic areas and hypothalamic lobes. In order to see the neuroanatomy better the skin, eyes and jaw of the larvae have been removed post-fixation.
