CHDI Licenses Redistribution® Technology

CHDI, Inc. and Fisher BioImage ApS (BioImage) have announced that CHDI has licensed BioImage's Redistribution® technology as a primary tool in its research and development efforts. 

CHDI will use Redistribution-based assays to monitor the intracellular translocation of Huntingtin and other molecules that play essential roles in Huntington Disease.

Abnormal localization of these molecules in neuronal tissues is one of the factors that has been associated with the development and progression of HD.

"Our scientists have found that translocation of key proteins involved in HD plays an integral role in the pathophysiology of the disease," said Dr. Robert Pacifici, chief scientific adviser to CHDI. 

"Assays based on tracking these translocations provide an excellent tool for various phases of our research on HD, and Redistribution technology is a logical tool for us to use."
