Read time: Less than a minute

MRC Technology has announced that it has won the One Nucleus BioNewsRound Award at this year’s On Helix conference on behalf of the Dementia Consortium.

The award was given for the announcement of the formation of a £3m Dementia Consortium in collaboration with Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK), and pharma partners Eisai and Lilly.

The consortium was launched to boost dementia drug discovery and unites charity, academic and private sectors in the search for new treatments.

Duncan Young, Business Development Manager, MRC Technology, presented the news to the judging panel and received the award on behalf of MRC Technology and ARUK: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from One Nucleus, as we are very proud of the work that has gone into establishing the consortium. We hope that this new model will lead the way in accelerating much needed treatments, by bringing together the very best charity, industry and academic expertise in precompetitive collaboration.”

Harriet Fear, CEO of One Nucleus, commented: “We decided to launch our summer BioNewsRound at ON helix to showcase excellence across the sector. The competition was fierce. Huge congratulations to our winner, MRC Technology in collaboration with ARUK. Duncan Young clearly showed how this initiative is exciting, creative and significant for the organizations, the sector and patients.”
