The company announce the addition of the Global Protein Post-Translational Modification (PTM) Profiling service to its proteomics line. The protein PTMs play a critical role in a wide range of cellular and pathogenesis processes.
The procedure of Protein PTM Profiling involves 2D DIGE followed by quantitative single- or double-color fluorescent 2D Western blot. Proteins with Post-Translational Modifications (PTMs) can be presented in high-resolution 2D images. In addition, the PTM levels in difference samples can be quantified and compared. This service targets the following common Post-Translational Modifications (PTMs):
- Phosphorylation (pSer, pThr, pTyr) - Ubiquitination - Acetylated-Lysine - Tyrosine sulfation - Methyl-Arginine - Nitrotyrosine - Biotinalytion.
The newly added Global Protein PTM Profiling benefits researches in these areas:
1) Identify novel proteins that are post-translationally modified
2) Confirm a specific protein of interest that is post-translationally modified
3) Quantify levels in post-translational modifications among different samples
4) In combination with 2D-DIGE, determine whether differentially expressed protein spots are also post-translationally modified
5) In combination with Mass Spectrometry, determine the site of post-translational modifications
