GE Healthcare Introduces Two High-Performance Chromatography Media for Tagged Proteins

Read time: Less than a minute

GE Healthcare has introduced two new high performance affinity chromatography media, Dextrin Sepharose™ High Performance and StrepTactin™ Sepharose High Performance.

The small, evenly sized 34 µm Sepharose High Performance beads ensure that proteins elute in narrow peaks, thus minimizing the need for further concentration steps.

According to GE Healthcare, the chromatography media also enable purification under physiological conditions and mild elution, which means that the activity of the target protein is preserved.

Dextrin Sepharose High Performance has been designed for the purification of proteins tagged with maltose binding protein (MBP), and StrepTactin Sepharose High Performance for Strep-tag™ II fusion proteins.

Both media are available in prepacked 1 and 5 ml MBPTrap™ HP and StrepTrap™ HP columns for reliable purification.

The new media are also easy to pack in and are compatible with commonly used aqueous buffers and easily regenerated using 0.5 M NaOH.

Dextrin Sepharose High Performance is available in 25 and 100 ml lab packs, and StrepTactin Sepharose High Performance is available in 10 and 50 ml lab packs.
