Kreatech Launches Protein Labeling and Fluorescent Detection Kits

Kreatech Biotechnology BV has announced the launch of its two ULS™ labeling kits for protein science applications.
The two 2-color ULS protein labeling and fluorescent detection kits are intended for profiling of serum and cell lysate samples on high-content antibody arrays and expands Kreatech’s Universal Linkage System, to now label both proteins and nucleic acids.
The kits offer the ULS labeling molecule bound to Biotin and Fluorescein for direct labeling of protein analytes in serum and cell lysate samples.
The complete kits not only include the appropriate blocking and washing buffers, but also the purification column, ULS™-Trap which ensure the complete removal of unreacted dye while yielding high sample recovery that is independent of protein size.
Upon incubation on the antibody array, detection is provided by anti-Fluorescein-DY™547 and Streptavidin-DY™647 conjugate, allowing scanning of the array in the standard Cy3/Cy5 channels.
“The direct ULS labeling of proteins in complex mixtures is a robust, one-step procedure,” said Roel Schaapveld, Director Business Development for Kreatech.
“In proteins, the specific target amino acids are Methionine, Cysteine and Histidine. With these specific targets, a high coverage of the proteome is guaranteed.”
“Both kits offer two-color profiling of “disease” versus “normal” samples on high-content antibody arrays without the use of validated antibody pairs.”
“This allows the analysis of >30 analytes in one sample, which is not possible with the classic antibody sandwich approach.”

The serum as well as the cell lysate 2-color ULS™ protein labeling and fluorescent detection kits have been validated on all currently available antibody array platforms and will have their market launch at the upcoming AMT Meeting in London, October 11-13.
