PTI Introduces New Sonata XT Peptide Synthesizer

Read time:
The Sonata XT is designed for 0.5 to 200 mmol synthesis scales (up to 400 g of resin). It features a single glass reaction vessel available in multiple sizes (200 mL, 500 mL, 1.2 L, 2 L, 3.2 L, and 4.2 L), 20 amino acid bottles (500 mL or 1 L), and 7 solvent bottle positions. Flexible software makes it easy to scale-up any protocol. The Sonata XT can be used for batch or continuous flow syntheses and features timed or volumetric deliveries and multiple mixing modes (nitrogen bubbling, vortex, and recirculation), which can be performed separately or in combination. Deliver amino acid in aliquots for in situ activation or pre-activate up to 1 L of coupling solution in each of the 20 amino acid bottles. Pre-activation can help avoid unwanted side reactions and allow users to utilize inexpensive DCC activation without having to rinse the resin. The Sonata XT also features two separate waste streams to minimize disposal costs, automated cleavage and is GMP compliant.
