STEMCELL Technologies Inc. has announced the release of TeSR™2, a defined, animal-protein free maintenance medium for human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. This medium takes a step towards addressing the needs of researchers working towards the culture of their cells in a medium free of animal-derived proteins.

“We anticipate that TeSR™2 will be a very useful tool to researchers working with hESCs and hiPSCs,” says Dr. Clive Glover, Senior Product Manager at STEMCELL Technologies. “The release of this medium demonstrates STEMCELL Technologies' commitment to providing high quality, standardized research reagents to the pluripotent stem cell research community.”

This medium complements STEMCELL’s range of products for hESC and hiPSC research. These include mTeSR®1, feeder-independent maintenance medium for hESC and hiPSC, and AggreWell™, a tool to prepare size-controlled, uniform embryoid bodies when differentiating these cells.
