Thermo Scientific™ iCAP™ RQ ICP-MS

Thermo Scientific™ iCAP™ RQ ICP-MS

The Thermo Scientific™ iCAP™ RQ ICP-MS is a highly sensitive, robust and flexible trace element analyser.  From routine, multi-element analysis to detection and characterisation of natural and engineered nanoparticles, the iCAP RQ provides an effective solution for your elemental analysis challenges.

Ease of maintenance and straightforward, simple to follow software workflows are at the heart of the iCAP RQ’s design.  The sample introduction system uses tool free, push fit assemblies, with pre-aligned argon gas connections, completely removing the risk of breakage when removing and reconnecting the plasma torch.  The novel, swing down door interface design of the instrument allows easy access to the sample and skimmer cones, simplifying cleaning and replacement of these components. With the iCAP RQ, the interface is where routine user maintenance stops.  The ion lenses, collision cell and analyser quadrupole are all user maintenance free.

The instrument is equipped with 5th generation collision cell technology which efficiently and simply removes a wide range of common ICP-MS interferences, such as ArO+ (on Fe), ArCl+ (on As) and Ar2+ (on Se), by using pure He as the collision cell gas and applying kinetic energy discrimination.  The optimised collision cell geometry provides efficient ion transfer, allowing low mass ions such as Li and B to be measured down to part per billion levels under the same collision cell conditions as all of your other target analytes, in a single analytical run.

For seamless, routine analysis, the iCAP RQ utilises the Thermo Scientific™ Qtegra™ intelligent Scientific Data Solution (ISDS) software suite.  Qtegra ISDS uses a clear, single page method configuration approach to enable all levels of users to quickly and effectively set up analytical runs.  Through the use of templates containing pre-defined method parameters, users need only enter sample names either by barcode scanning, importing from a worklist or using manual entry to prepare an analysis.  For laboratories that require regulated methods, Qtegra ISDS includes a range of features and tools to assist with compliance for protocols such as the US FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11.  These features and tools include electronic signature, audit trail, administrator and locked method capabilities, as well as data integrity assurance features such as prevention of data deletion or modification without approval, validation and sign off.  Qtegra ISDS also includes dedicated plug-ins to facilitate automated analysis using a range of accessories including autosamplers, autodilution systems, chromatography instruments and laser ablation platforms, as well as providing software tools for nanoparticle quantification and characterisation.  For results reporting, Qtegra ISDS allows flexible report configuration to meet all your data output format requirements, as well as providing configurable digital outputs in CSV and XML formats.

With its proven performance in environmental, food, pharmaceutical, geological, semiconductor, academic and clinical research analysis applications, the iCAP RQ is a powerful addition to your analytical laboratory.
