Exploring the Coronavirus Pandemic: The Possible Impact of Vaccine Hesitancy

Significant efforts are underway to develop a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that has caused the COVID-19 global pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy, defined by the World Health Organization as the reluctance or refusal to vaccinate despite the availability of vaccines, is a critical factor that might influence these efforts.

Technology Networks spoke with Dr Sharon Nachman, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and Associate Dean for Research at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, to learn more about vaccine hesitancy, specifically in the context of COVID-19.
