Accessible Single Cell Proteomics by Mass Spectrometry
Until recently, our ability to quantify proteins in single mammalian cells was limited to a few dozen proteins per cell. Advances in quantifying proteins in single cells by mass spectrometry now allow the quantification of 1000s of proteins in individual cells. Tackling complex disease demands scaling the throughput and accessibility of this technology. Harrison Specht describes the advances toward high-throughput sample preparation, parallelizing protein quantification across many samples, and the ability to prioritize proteins of interest for consistent analysis.
