Continuous Flow Multi-Step Organic Synthesis - Methods and Applications
Conference Recording Jan 07, 2013
About the SpeakerTim Jamison was born in San Jose, CA and grew up in neighboring Los Gatos, CA. He received his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley. In July 1999, he began his independent career at MIT, where his research program focuses on the development of new methods of organic synthesis and their implementation in the total synthesis of natural products.
Using continuous flow techniques for multi-step synthesis enables multiple reaction steps to be combined into a single continuous operation. In this lecture we discuss the current state of the art in this field, present several of our own case studies and highlight recent progress and current challenges facing this emerging area.
