Dr. Alexander J Ainscough is a lecturer (assistant professor) in Organotypic Systems in the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College London, and part of the Imperial Organoid Facility. He trained in cardiovascular organoid bioengineering during his postdoc at Harvard University and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. During his PhD at Imperial he was inspired by Ingber’s Organ-chip program and developed a pulmonary artery-on-a-chip to model vascular pathology in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
