Senior Lecturer
at Monash University
Dr. Amin Valiei is a senior lecturer and principal investigator at Monash University, where he leads the Microbial Communities for Health and Sustainability research group. He earned his PhD in chemical engineering from McGill University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley. Valiei's research focuses on understanding the dynamics of microbial communities through state-of-the-art experimental and computational approaches. His work aims to uncover and engineer microbial interactions within complex communities and to investigate how microbial populations respond to environmental cues such as fluid flow, mechanical forces, and surface properties. This research has broad applications in developing new therapeutic strategies for microbiome-related diseases, advancing industrial bioprocesses, and improving environmental remediation technologies.
