Art Rand, PhD profile page

Dr. Art Rand has been working on nanopore sequencing since before the MinION. He started his scientific career as an organic chemist and biochemist before transitioning to machine learning upon joining the nanopore group at University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Rand is particularly interested in epigenetics and technology development and believes that robust bioinformatic tools can greatly help scientific research. In his free time, he enjoys long road cycling rides and cooking with his family.
