Bhaskar Roy, MD, MHS profile page

Bhaskar Roy is a specialist in neuromuscular disorders. He completed his medical degree at the University of Calcutta, and a master’s in medical science in technology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Connecticut and a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. Roy is board-certified in neurology and neuromuscular medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in electrodiagnostic medicine and in neuromuscular ultrasound by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. His clinical area of expertise includes inflammatory myopathies (with a special interest in inclusion body myositis), inflammatory neuropathies, and muscular dystrophies. He is the medical director of the Electrodiagnostic Laboratory and director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association adult care clinic at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on B-cell dysfunction in inflammatory neuropathies, using bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques to investigate disease pathomechanism and identify the key drivers underlying B-cell dysfunction.
