Dr. Luciane Tsukamoto Kagohara
Associate Professor, Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Luciane Kaghara is an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Her lab has a hybrid focus on understanding mechanisms of resistance to cancer therapies. Currently, her research applies high dimensional technologies, such as scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics, to examine intrinsic mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapies in liver and pancreatic cancers. These two cancer types are highly heterogeneous and present poor responses to currently available immunotherapies. Using single-cell based technologies applied to clinical trial samples, my collaborators and I expect to discover why these tumors do not respond to immunotherapies, identify new therapeutic targets, and better select patients to new immunotherapy trials.
