Dr. Libardoni is an analytical chemist with over 25 years of experience in separation science, instrument development, and novel application work in the fields of metabolomics and the detection of organic compounds in harsh environments and heavy matrices. Dr. Libardoni earned his Ph.D. under the guidance of Professor Richard Sacks at the University of Michigan where he studied high-speed and multi-dimensional gas phase separations. He continued his research in private industry and has spent the last 15 years at Southwest Research Institute overseeing the Contamination Control and Planetary Protection laboratory as well as collaborating with academia colleagues on bio-analytical projects focused on biomarkers for Human Performance, disease detection, and Astronaut Health and Wellness. Dr. Libardoni holds an adjunct position at the University of Texas and mentors STEM high school students, undergraduate, and graduate students in both Physics and Chemistry majors.
