Director of Applications Development
Vera Gross, Ph.D. is the Director of Applications Development at Pressure BioSciences, Inc. Vera started at PBI in the early days of the 21st century (2007 to be exact) as an R&D scientist using her experience in cell and molecular biology to develop high-pressure applications for cell lysis and extraction of various biomolecules. For the past several years Vera has focused on using PBI’s Barofold Technology to examine and optimize high pressure-based approaches for modulating protein folding with an emphasis on generating soluble, active, and stable proteins from purified inclusion bodies and other protein aggregates.
Novel Protein Characterization for Biopharma Development
In this webinar, our expert speakers will demonstrate how thermal and pressure stress changed the structure and melting point of two model proteins and resulted in the discovery of different structural rearrangements.
They will then discuss a novel method for solubilizing and refolding proteins using hydrostatic pressure to generate proteins whose structure matches that of the native protein, as confirmed by microfluidic modulation spectroscopy.
