Ed is an experienced microbiologist who has worked in a variety of roles in anti-infective drug discovery over the past two decades, including within contract research, on clinical lab benches and in industrial/academic drug development. He has led dozens of large and small-scale in vitro antimicrobial testing projects and worked on countless others across the sector, including collaboration on development of drugs such as co-amoxiclav, daptomycin, fidaxomicin, zosurabalpin and many others. He has worked with and for organisations in big pharma, SMEs, start-ups, charitable organisations and academic institutions. Currently excited by Oppilotech’s “understanding biology through biochemical modelling” approach to antimicrobial drug discovery, Ed works with an excellent team turning certified drug targets into preclinical antimicrobials.
