Dr. Eliu Huerta is a theoretical astrophysicist, mathematician and computer scientist whose research lies at the interface of physics, AI and computational science. His interdisciplinary work focuses on applying advanced computational techniques and AI methodologies to tackle grand challenges in astrophysics, cosmology, observational astronomy and complex systems. Specifically, his research addresses key problems in multi-messenger astrophysics, the modeling of multi-scale and multi-physics systems and materials science, with particular emphasis on carbon capture and other sustainable technologies.
He holds a Master of Advanced Study in applied mathematics and theoretical physics and a PhD in theoretical astrophysics from the University of Cambridge, UK. Dr. Huerta is the principal investigator for several interdisciplinary, NSF- and DOE-funded projects that bring together researchers from multiple institutions to advance AI and computational methods in big-data-driven experiments.
