Dr. Emmelianna Kumar provides expertise and technical leadership on the environmental risks of chemicals. She has 20 years of experience in scientific research, with over 14 years focusing on environmental chemistry and conservation. Kumar has a PhD in environmental chemistry and a Master's degree in wild animal biology. Her mission is to protect the environment and human health from the harmful effects of chemicals, and to promote sustainable and innovative solutions. Kumar creates and compiles evidence to identify emerging risks from chemicals and develop and implement strategic plans and innovative solutions to address these. She collaborates with colleagues and external partners to perform environmental monitoring and assess the environmental impacts of chemicals. She builds relationships and influences stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes. Kumar designs and commissions research, manages projects, delivers lectures and presentations and supervises MSc and PhD projects to support chemical risk management.
