Frank Charlton, PhD
Scientific Collaborator at L’Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne
Dr. Frank Charlton obtained his PhD in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Leeds, where he studied the potential of exploiting host cell ion channels as an antiviral target for emerging viral diseases. Charlton then embarked on a postdoc at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he worked as the resident virologist in a materials science group that develops nanoparticles as broad-spectrum antivirals. In his current role, he studies how respiratory viruses survive in the environment to better inform infection control measures.
