Scientific Director
at Critical Path Institute
Graham Marsh, PhD, is a scientific director in the Critical Path Institute's Predictive Safety Testing Consortium. He earned a BS in Physics and Chemistry at Bates College, a MS in Optical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester. For his doctoral work, he built models to study the circulation and extravasation of immune cells in a microfluidic vascular in vitro system. He spent six years working as a scientist at Biogen in the Translational Cell Sciences Department. There, he worked with a team of stem cell biologists and engineers to construct microphysiological models and applied them as tools for drug discovery. In 2021, he joined Iviva Medical, where he worked for two years, leading a team characterizing the physiology of a tissue-engineered kidney. He joined the Predictive Testing Safety Consortium at the Critical Path Institute in 2023 and is working to enable the use of complex in vitro models for regulatory applications by establishing evidentiary considerations for their qualification as drug development tools.
