Core Facility Manager
at Karolinska Institutet
Hassan Gharibi holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2015), an MSc in Biotechnology Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University (2017), and a PhD in Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet (2023). He continued at Karolinska Institutet as a postdoctoral fellow before becoming Project Manager of the Single-Cell Proteomics Core Facility in 2025. His research focuses on advancing mass spectrometry–based proteomics. During his PhD, he developed a novel method, Fourier Transform Isotopic Ratio Mass Spectrometry (FT isoR MS), enabling simultaneous isotopic analysis and protein identification. This work resulted in publications in leading journals including *JACS* and *Analytical Chemistry*. He has also contributed to over 20 collaborative studies published in high-impact journals, supporting method development, data analysis, and visualization using R and Python. In his current role, he leads the development and implementation of cutting-edge single-cell proteomics workflows, adapting chemical proteomics techniques such as PISA, FITExP, and FT isoR MS to single-cell resolution. Leveraging advanced platforms and approaches including TMTplex, Astral, and DIA, the facility enables high-resolution proteomic profiling to support diverse biomedical research projects.
