Hui-Lin Pan, MD, PhD profile page

Dr. Hui-Lin Pan received his medical and graduate training in China, where he practiced medicine for five years. He subsequently completed postdoctoral research training at the University of California, Davis, where he conducted extensive neurophysiological studies on primary sensory nerves innervating the heart and other visceral organs. He went on to establish an independent research career at Wake Forest University, Penn State University, and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

His expertise includes ion channels, synaptic plasticity, and G protein–coupled receptor signaling. Currently, Dr. Pan’s work focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying chronic pain, opioid-induced hyperalgesia and tolerance, and neurogenic hypertension. He has authored approximately 270 peer-reviewed publications in neuroscience and cardiovascular research.
