Professor Jana Pulkrabová, is the head of the Department of Food Analysis and Nutrition. She is a leading expert in the analysis of organic contaminants in food and environmental matrices, with extensive experience in biomonitoring studies and advanced analytical techniques for the detection of halogenated contaminants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticide residues, and their metabolites. Her work also includes non-targeted analysis of food and environmental samples using chromatographic methods in combination with mass spectrometric detection. Her research interests include the impact of food contaminants on human health and the environment, focusing on developing methods for assessing exposure to hazardous substances. Her studies involve collaboration with international partners and address key issues in food safety, consumer health, and environmental protection. With an H-index of 33 and over 100 publications, Professor Pulkrabová has made significant contributions to food and environmental chemistry. She has participated in several international (FP5-7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, COST, EEA grants) and nationally funded research projects.
