Jeroen Verheyen, MSc, is co-founder and chief executive officer of Semarion, a Cambridge-based life science tools company developing the SemaCyte® platform to make adherent cell assays more scalable, reproducible, and automation-ready. He has a multidisciplinary background spanning biomedical sciences, nanoscience, bionanotechnology, cell-based assay development, and life science commercialization. Before co-founding Semarion, Verheyen worked as a research associate at the University of Cambridge and held commercial and leadership roles across life science innovation, consulting, and early-stage technology ventures. His work focuses on translating interdisciplinary technologies into practical drug discovery tools, including assay-ready cells, cell multiplexing, high-content imaging, and automation-compatible adherent cell workflows. Jeroen has served as a judge for the Innovation AveNEW and Ignite programs at SLAS Europe 2025 in Hamburg and SLAS 2026 in Boston after winning the Ignite award in previous years.
