Dr. Jinchuan Xing is a professor in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers University. Xing received his PhD in biochemistry from Louisiana State University in 2005. He then trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he worked in human genetics and high‑throughput sequencing.

Xing joined the Department of Genetics at Rutgers in 2012. His research spans human genomic variation, mobile DNA, disease‑gene discovery, and population genetics. His lab has made major contributions to autism spectrum disorder, Tourette disorder, human infertility, and mobile DNA biology. He has published more than 130 research articles, and his work has been cited more than 47,000 times.
