
Director of Science Programs
at Institute for the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences
Marie has over 25 years of experience addressing the critical issues of today in the field of nutrition. As the director of science programs at the Institute for the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences (IAFNS), Marie leads several nutrition committees, develops new programs on emerging science topics and furthers the organization’s mission to advance science for public health benefit. Additionally, she leads several collaborations with experts across sectors and fields in the food and beverage ecosystem. Marie has worked as a clinical nutritionist for the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, as a consultant for Environ Ramboll developing Generally Recognized as Safe dossiers, and as a study director at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine on the Review of WIC Food Packages, among other roles. Marie has a Master of Science in nutrition science from the Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from George Mason University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
