Miguel Forte, MD, PhD profile page

Dr. Miguel Forte is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Kiji Therapeutics and currently serves as president of the International Society of Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT). He holds an MD with a specialty in infectious diseases from the University of Lisbon and a PhD in immunology from the University of Birmingham. Forte is a seasoned biopharma executive with leadership experience across cell and gene therapies, biologics, vaccines, and immunotherapy. He has served in c-suite roles across various companies, where he has led strategic refocuses, raised capital, conducted IPO preparation, and successfully developed products for approval and launch. Forte combines industry leadership with academic, regulatory, and board-level contributions. He was previously the chief commercialization officer and chair of the ISCT Commercialization Committee and served as a member of the European Medicines Agency's medicinal products for human use committee.
