CSO and Acting CEO

 at Carcinotech

Dr. Nikki March is Chief Scientific Officer and acting CEO at Carcinotech, where she leads the development of patient-derived 3D bioprinted tumor models designed to improve the predictive power of preclinical oncology research.

With over 20 years of experience across academia and biotechnology, Nikki has worked extensively in oncology drug discovery, spanning target identification, validation, and translational strategy. Her work focuses on building more physiologically relevant in vitro systems that better recapitulate tumor microenvironment complexity, incorporating stromal and immune components alongside tumor cells.

At Carcinotech, she is particularly interested in how upstream processes such as tissue handling, dissociation, and cryopreservation impact downstream model fidelity, reproducibility, and the reliability of drug response data in complex model systems.

Nikki holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB) and is actively engaged in advancing the adoption of human-relevant models within evolving scientific and regulatory frameworks.
