Dr. Peter Cameron is the senior vice president of gene editing and translation at Profluent Bio, where he leads AI-driven protein engineering programs for gene editing discovery and translation. Peter brings over a decade of experience in CRISPR-based therapeutic gene editing, having previously led technology development initiatives focused on activity, specificity and delivery at Caribou Biosciences and Spotlight Therapeutics. His work has led to high-impact publications, numerous patents and gene editing technologies that are now advancing through early-stage clinical trials. Peter earned his PhD in molecular and cellular biology from UC Berkeley and completed postdoctoral research at The Scripps Research Institute. He is passionate about advancing the frontiers of genetic medicine to improve outcomes across both rare and common diseases.
