Dr. Qing Zhong is an associate professor at Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at The University of Sydney. He completed his undergraduate study in computer science and obtained a PhD in biochemistry and computer science at ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in Zurich, Switzerland. He was awarded the ProMedica Stiftung for his post-doctoral training at University of Zurich, and was then appointed as a senior data scientist at University Hospital Zurich. His research interests encompass big cancer data analysis, machine learning and computational biology. His primary focus has been on mining and managing large-scale proteogenomic datasets; analysing genome-proteome associations and integrating multi-omics data to advance cancer research; developing advanced statistical methodologies to address batch effects in large-scale, high-throughput proteomics; and implementing big data-driven, evidence-based computational tools to enable predictive, preventive and personalized medicine.
